The SVP India chapter began 10 years ago, and now has 380 active partners across seven cities. It has supported almost 100 NGOs through money, time and expertise. In a country that induces a chronic numbness towards inequity and disparity, SVP enables a different kind of networking — between non-profit organisations and professionals who want to give back.
A partner makes an annual financial contribution — about the cost of a family holiday to Kashmir — which goes into a common pool. Three lead partners are then matched with a selected NGO, based on needs and expertise, for three years.
