Topics issues: the UN Convention against Torture, preventing discrimination and violence against women and girls, members of religious minorities, and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, caste-based discrimination prevention of religious violence and measures to avoid excessive use of force by security officers.

Reviving the Constituency for Civil Liberties

A group of us civil liberties activists highlight the civil liberties and human rights aspects of ongoing events like the Farmer Agitations particularly the fall out on free speech, right to protest, proportionality of State response. We particularly need to counter the attempt to discredit outspoken journalists, public intellectuals and even for that matter comedians!

We have decided to have a media education campaign using insta, whatapps, discussion groups, on the farmers issues.  We will use this space to "slow down" - so as to be a repository of memes and comments and organis them in a way such that they become a curriculum and resource on Civil Liberties.. Artists, writers, bloggers, insta and youtubers are invited to grow this space or replicate or even create new democratic and civic spaces toward the same objective Just send us a link with a pix or descriptor.

HRDs  must counter State's offensive of intimidating ordinary people, from expressing their opinion on social media or on various issues .  Lawyers as well as Journalists, and youtubers bring these cases up in the public eye in order to youth to feel more secure speaking out.. This series we will document  case law  as well as reports through links to documents, reports from various websites and Blogs and Posts of HRDs. This is also an attempt to publicise all the dirty tricks State  have been using. This is a contributory effort..
