Aug 3, 2019 The idea of ChalChitra Abhiyaan germinated soon after the Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013, when we realised how social media (and even sections of mainstream media) were being used to vitiate the atmosphere and instigate riots. Many felt the need for a social media presence an alternate media in Western UP which could raise real issues that concern people. CCA was born out of that vacuum or need.

These videos have often brought out grassroots news to the public domain on contentious issues when the mainstream media has looked away.
