Canada’s Allegation Creates a Dissonance in the Post-G20 Narratives About India https://thewire.in/diplomacy/india-canada-nijjar-modi Nirupama Subramanian 21/Sep/2023
"What the Canadian allegation has done is to call out the paradox: abroad, the Modi government wants to be seen as Vishwaguru, a rules-abiding global leader who is a reliable partner of the West, and at home as a take-no-prisoners, tough-talking don, who can ghus ke fix all perceived enemies." For Delhi, which wants to be seen rubbing shoulders at the high table with the G7 even as it claims the leadership of the “global south”, Canada’s allegation has created a dissonance in the post-G20 narratives about India, its influence and clout, its convening power, and its bridging capabilities. All this because India has worked hard to project itself as a land of 1.5 billion people that is not China.
It is not too well known that at the time, the CSIS wanted R&AW to sign off on a MoU listing do’s and don’ts for foreign intelligence operatives, which the Indian agency refused to do. Over the next few years, R&AW and IB did not post anyone in Canada. A semblance of Indian intelligence presence in Canada was maintained through the Bureau of Security in the Ministry of External Affairs, manned mainly by police officers. These officials are posted to missions abroad to manage the security of the diplomats. In Canada, in a decade crucial for India’s battle to save Punjab, they were tasked with part-time intelligence work too. This continued until matters were resolved in the mid-1990s,
Terry Glavin: After Trudeau alleges murder plot, Canada-India relations may be irreparable https://nationalpost.com/opinion/terry-glavin-after-trudeau-alleges-murder-plot-canada-india-relations-may-be-irreparable Who are these 'credible allegations' coming from? Sep 19, 2023 In the column, in which he lights into Trudeau for “irreparably” damaging ties with India and handing Beijing a victory, Glavin suggests that the BJP was in touch with Ripudaman Malik, one of three main accused in the Kanishka bombing case. in the background is what became largely a covert operation, a backchannel reconciliation effort between Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party and veteran Canadian Khalistanis who were growing weary of agitating for a separate Sikh state in India that India’s Sikhs want nothing to do with... but the Trudeau government bowed to a Khalistani-influenced group of gurudwara leaders and “obstructed the peace dialogue ..process,”
According to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Muslim girls face the temptation of apostasy because of the coeducation system, while claiming that it opposes coeducation and opposes women's education https://www.outlookindia.com/national/against-co-education-not-women-s-education-jamiat-ulema-e-hind-news-252228
Comment in WA by VC:
What is the 'temptation of apostasy', according to them?
Just asking out of curiosity, while wondering whether only the women in coed institutions face this potentially dread fate, and no other genders?
What Can Cause Apostasy in the Church?
Causes of apostasy: persecution (Matthew 24:9-10); false teachers (Matthew 24:11); temptation (Luke 8:13); worldliness (2 Timothy 4:4); defective knowledge of Christ (1 John 2:19); moral lapse (Hebrews 6:4-6); forsaking worship and spiritual living (Hebrews 10:25-31); unbelief (Hebrews 3:12). - https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christian-terms/what-is-apostasy.html In the current context - The one question that I was asked by a padre in college to test apostasy was "do you pray?" Today the fear is not so much you relationship with God, but with the "organised religion". and in this case the fear that inside a co-ed school organised religion gets trumped by basic instincts of young girls. Whereas the entire campaign of name calling, boycott, and now citizenship is the cause for "apostasy". This was a speech by this guy in Jan 2023. I wonder what his thrust was yesterday.
The same article said.. "In August 2021, the Jamiat advocated setting up separate schools and colleges for women and girls and said non-Muslims should also refrain from opting for the co-education system for their daughters to "keep them away from immorality and misbehaviour".
At Sunday's meeting, an appeal was also made to all secular-minded people to unite and fight against the extremist and fascist forces at the political and social levels, instead of reacting emotionally. It called on people to make every effort to spread brotherhood, harmony, mutual tolerance, and justice in the country.

Dialogue: Kejriwal’s Ambition, Anna’s Betrayal https://hwnews.in/dialogue/dialogue-kejriwals-ambition-annas-betrayal/ by Sujit Nair July 1, 2023
Anna Hazare made demi-god by his team, says ex-blogger https://www.indiatoday.in/india/north/story/anna-hazare-demi-god-by-his-team-former-blogger-145545-2011-11-11
Nov 12, 2011 the Gandhian's former blogger Raju Parulekar alleged that Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Prashant Bhushan and Manish Sisodia had "free reigns" and had free run in media by becoming "experts" on various subjects which gave them also the "stature of being virtuous and demi-gods". He sought answers from Hazare as to who "pressurised" him not to show the door to Bhushan from the Core team for his controversial comments on plebiscite in Kashmir, saying who will understand the legal loopholes in the bill and whether he was aware of the financial transactions of Kejriwal and Sisodia and their "ambitions".
On the controversial letter by Hazare on restructuring Team Anna which was made public by him, Parulekar said Hazare has cast aspersions on his honesty and integrity but he felt that it was not the Gandhian's words but those of somebody else, "dangerous, wicked, self-centered and in real-sense enemy of the people of country called India." "I have shown Annaji's handwritten and signed letter for re-structuring ?Team Anna? to the trio. They were shaken but remained arrogant. Kejriwal said, ?we ?Team Anna? have decided in Kosambi that the ?team? will remain so hence the letter is insignificant.? He went on to claim that to re-structure ?Team Anna? will harm Janlokpal issue. Annaji wrote on a piece of paper, ?how come re-structuring and Janlokpal bill issue is contradictory?? Annaji?s reaction was all the more explosive," he said.
“The Leftist ecosystem still exists. You know, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court opened the court on a Saturday night to give Teesta Setalvad bail. Will it happen for us,” she asked while speaking at the launch of Marathi book ‘Jagala Pokharnari Davi Walvi’ (World-weakening Leftist Termites) in Pune. “To retain political power, you need (to have) narrative power. We need to have it. Unless we attain it, we will be like a directionless ship,” she said. She recalled her childhood association with RSS-affiliated organisations. She said, “I was a ‘Bal Sevika’ in my childhood. I got my sanskars (values) from the RSS only. I am proud to say that I belong to the Sangh (RSS) and I am proud to say that I am a Hindu. I do not hesitate at all.” “Garv se kehti hu main Hindu hoon,” she repeated, with the audience shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. “Left and RSS are individual ideologies. There has been a major paradigm shift post-2014 in the conflict between these two ideologies,” she said. Pandit, who was appointed as the JNU VC in February last year
Referring to the upcoming Nalanda University in Bihar, she said, “I recently visited the Nalanda University at Bakhtiyarpur. We should change that Bakhtiyarpur name. What kind of name is that.” On the country’s ancient civilisation, she said, “Our Bharatiya civilisation is superior, feminist and greatest in the world. Draupadi is the first feminist and not one Simone De Beauvoir (French philosopher). Our civilisation is nature-centric.

Bhagwat accused leftists of attempting to corrupt American culture and questioned their self-proclaimed status as scientists. https://english.pardaphash.com/rss-chief-mohan-bhagwat-criticizes-leftists-influence-on-education-and-culture/ By Rekha Joshi Updated Date September 18, 2023 Bhagwat pointed to an incident in a Gujarat school where kindergarten teachers were instructed to assess whether KG-2 students knew the names of their private body parts. He considered this a manifestation of the leftist agenda infiltrating educational institutions and undermining traditional cultural values.
The RSS chief also highlighted an example from the United States, where, after a change in government leadership, policies were implemented in schools allowing students to self-identify their gender and use corresponding restrooms. Bhagwat questioned the impact of such cultural shifts and expressed concerns about the moral fabric of society.
The last part is significant.. also because there is a narrative among the Younger Left, that is searching for Nature, Life meaning, Culture, Decolonisation..
“Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam” Mother of All Jumlas!? 23 September 2023 by Sukla Sen Mainstream, VOL 61 No 39 September 23, 2023 http://www.mainstreamweekly.net/article13834.html two significant departures. One, the title has undergone a very radical and, arguably, silly (or sinister?) transformation. Two, the implementation of this Bill even afterenactment would have to wait for census and, then, delimitation.
All in all, the Special Session of the Parliament, which also sort of inaugurated the New Parliament Building, it’s now more than amply clear, was meant to precisely pass the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam to hold up Narendra Modi as the God’s chosen one to champion the causes of women — while actually doing precious little — and camouflage his actual track record as illustrated by e.g. the premature release of eleven convicted gang rapists in the Bilkis Bano case as a part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav [24], atrocities in Hathras (ref.: https://www.outlookindia.com/national/revisiting-hathras-a-timeline-of-how-the-case-unfolded-news-266802), and Manipur [25].
Kincentric ecology is both an emergent and ancient worldview and field of practice. Rooted in a deep sense of our belonging with all life, it places humans as part of nature and recognises the more than human world as bestowed with intelligence, sensibilities, subjecthood and intentionality. To ensure right relationship with this vast community of life requires a deep acknowledgement of our interbeing - and requires us to act as kin. https://www.kincentricleadership.org/
Kincentric leadership aims to embed this way of thinking and acting into our strategy and decision-making as we navigate the polycrisis - no matter which field we act within. It acknowledges that wise practices and decsions requires humans to respect, understand and work with the intelligence of the more than human world, and that our own thriving is intimately bound up with the integrity and health of the whole community of life
Inner Climate Academy and Kincentric Leadership are working towards laying the foundations for a new paradigm of leadership and polycrisis mitigation, grounded in kincentric ecology. We will be weaving together groundbreaking science into the intelligence, consciousness and agency of the more than human world with indigenous worldviews and practices to push the boundaries of what we think is possible as leaders and human beings facing crisis.

Times of London - Editorial Prime Suspect
Mr Modi’s muscular instincts are well known. Under his rule India has slipped down global rankings for religious and press freedom. In February the BBC’s offices in Delhi were raided in retaliation for a documentary alleging that Mr Modi failed to protect Muslims suffering deadly sectarian attacks in 2002 when he was chief minister of Gujarat. His foreign policy is marked by a reluctance to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a pragmatic if cynical stance based on trade and Moscow’s importance as an arms supplier. But the sanctioning of a political assassination of a foreign national would take matters to an altogether different level...The diplomatic fallout from this affair is likely to be extensive. This is not Russians carrying out a “wet job” on Russians on foreign soil, which in the case of Sergei and Yulia Skripal resulted in severe reprisals against Russian embassies in the West. It is allegedly the murder by a foreign power of a Canadian citizen in Canada. This is a huge provocation that Mr Modi and his shadowy lieutenants in India’s intelligence apparatus may come to regret.
Canada's allegations politically driven, there's degree of prejudice: MEA on diplomatic row Sep 21, 2023 https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/canadas-allegations-politically-driven-theres-degree-of-prejudice-mea-on-india-canada-row-101695292917077.html
The statement from MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi confirmed that Canada shared no specific information regarding the allegations. "From our side, very specific evidence of criminal activities based on Canadian soil has been shared with the Canadian authorities on a regular basis but has not been acted upon," the MEA spokesperson said
https://www.economist.com/leaders/2023/09/20/if-india-ordered-a-murder-in-canada-there-must-be-consequences If India ordered a murder in Canada, there must be consequences India denies everything. But Canada is reported to have shared intelligence about the murder with its allies in the “Five Eyes” pact. None appears to have questioned it. Shortly after Mr Trudeau levelled the charge in Canada’s parliament, America and Britain released cautiously supportive statements, urging India to co-operate with a Canadian probe.
