Padmasri Prof. Radhamohan, a dear friend of many sustainable agriculture practitioners, committed civil society
proponent, an environmentalist who helped bridge science society relations in Odisha and beyond and a Gandhian with a great sense of humour is no more. He has been battling pneumonia for a while and has been on ventilation for the last fortnight at a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_ZtBOGnNEo&t=1s captures a bit of his journey in setting up Sambhav that many of us have visited and learnt from.
Message from MV Sastrigaru: For me, and so many, Radha Mohan was a unique blend of simplicity, humility, depth and commitment : student community was his constituency in his initial years, and on this he implanted environmental consciousness, combining this with his main vocation which was teaching Economics.
Being in a transferable job those years must have been tough on Radha Mohan. But he made this an opportunity to relate with a widening student circle on a variety of local environmental matters on which he delved in the state of Odisha : that is how he built his own understanding of environmental issues from below.
