During Ram Navami on 30th March, we saw Hindus pelting stones at mosques, aggressively chanting violent anti-Muslim slogans and dancing with swords, all in the name of Hinduism.

On March 27th, Hindu men forcibly entered a Muslim man’s house in Moradabad, UP and, in the presence of police, forcibly stopped people from praying. Hindus forcibly entering houses where Christians peacefully pray as well as vandalizing churches is also quite common.

The forcible entry and vandalism of minority religion premises and the noisy display of Hindu 'celebrations' outside mosques goes against our intrinsic spirit of tolerance and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

as Hindus:

We strongly condemn the use of Rama’s name to propagate acts of violence, vandalism, bullying and harassment. No one should be forced to chant Jai Shri Ram unless they do so of their own free will.

We strongly condemn congregating in noisy and unruly groups carrying weapons and saffron flags outside places of worship of other religious minorities. This is done with only the intent of instigating other religious minorities, taunting and goading them to show dominance and aggression. It is not a form of worship that is representative of Hinduism.

We strongly condemn saffron clad men and women entering private places of worship and heckling, molesting, physically and verbally attacking those of other religions.
